Cleveland,
OH, February 10, 2003 - Stanley Assembly Technologies introduces the
Cobotics iTrolley™, an intelligent rail system that maximizes
productivity and safety in material handling and assembly operations. In the
movement of heavy loads with bridge cranes, the iTrolley minimizes the
starting-and-stopping strain that contributes to a reduction in productivity
and upper extremity injuries. Internal testing has demonstrated an average of
56% greater productivity compared with conventional manual crane systems.
The DC servo-driven iTrolley masks the momentum and inertia of the
overhead crane, greatly reducing push/pull forces and energy required to
perform each cycle, so operators can work faster. The operator simply begins
pushing the load in the intended direction, and the intelligent system responds
as quickly as the operator moves. The iTrolley provides easy
installation on existing or new rail systems, and works with both flexible
cable/chain-based systems and rigid arm systems. Other features contributing to
increased productivity are the ability to program in "virtual boundaries" that
help guide operator motion more precisely, and the ability to automate portions
of a task.
Stanley Assembly Technologies provides solutions to the global assembly market,
including the motor vehicle industry. Core solutions include high-performance
DC electric and pneumatic tightening tools and controllers, conventional
pneumatic balancing arms, torque tubes and now Intelligent Assist Devices for
ergonomic material handling.
